(نهایت) استفاده از چیزی بردن
Definition : make good use of sth
Ex : I woke up bright and early to take the full advantage of good weather.
صبح زود بیدار شدم تا از هوای خوب نهایت استفاده رو ببرم.
نکته: دقت شود که take advantage of sb به معنی "سو استفاده کردن از کسی" است و معنی متفاوتی نسبت به اصطلاح ما دارد.
تمرین 1: بیا نهایت استفاده از آب و هوا رو ببریم و بریم ساحل.
اطلاع ندارم
Definition : use to say that you don’t know the answer to sth . SYN : search me INF.
EX : which way was the quickest way back? Don’t ask me, he said.
کدام راه سریع ترین مسیر برگشت بود؟ جواب داد ، اطلاعی ندارم.
تمرین 2 : نمی دونم عینکت رو کجا جا گذاشتی.
خیلی راحت / مثل آب خوردن
Definition : a thing that is very easy to do.
Ex: I can make the machine run. It is a piece of cake.
من می تونم دستگاه رو راه بندازم. مثل آب خوردن هستش.
تمرین3 : برای او امتحان دادن مثل آب خوردنه.
همون حرفای همیشگی
Definition: used when you think sb is speaking with too much confidence about sth that they think will happen.
Ex: he said: I do know the reciepe loudly. Famous last words!
گفت : دستور پخت رو خیلی خوب میدونم. همون حرفای همیشگی!
تمرین 4 : تام: دیگه عمرا پامو تو این خونه بزارم. هری: همون حرفای همیشگی.
تصمیم خود را عوض کردن
Definition : change your decision or opinion about sth.
Ex : we followed him for half an hour before he changed his mind.
قبل از این که تصمیم خودش رو عوض کنه نیم ساعت دنبالش رفتیم.
تمرین 5 : اول که دیدمش ازش خوشم نیومد ولی الان نظرم عوض شده.
به جایی نرسیدن. راه به جایی نبردن.
Definition : make no progress or have no progress .
Ex : he confessed that we are getting nowhere.
او اعتراف کرد که ما هیچ پیشرفتی نداریم.
تمرین 6 : داشت سعی کی کرد که متقاعدش کنه بزاره رانندگی کنه، ولی راه به جایی نبرد.
در آن صورت
Defenition : used to say what will happen, or what you will do.
Ex : well, in that case ,we should give her a ring. I said.
من گفتم در آن صورت بهتره با او تماس بگیریم.
تمرین 7: قهوه ای نمونده. خب در این صورت چایی میخورم.
مسئول شخص یا چیزی بودن.
Defenition: having control or commond (of sb/sth)
Ex : who is in charge of this group?
مسئول این گروه کیه؟
تمرین 8 : معلم منو مسئول سازماندهی پروژه کرد.
تماس گرفتن (با یک نفر)
Defenition: make contact with sb by phone.
Ex: there was no signal on my phone so we couldn’t get through to him.
گوشی من آنتن نداشت برا همین نتونستیم باهاش تماس بگیریم.
تمرین 9 : تونستی به مامانت زنگ بزنی؟
خدارو شکر
Defenition: used to say you are pleased and relieved about Sth.
Ex: I bought a car then, thank heavens for that.
خداروشکر بالاخره یه ماشین خریدم.
تمرین 10: خداروشکر که مدیر منو اخراج نکرد.
